Your Cart is Empty

People are always looking for answers through mediums, soothsayers and the like only to be fooled, robbed and lied to in the process by professional manipulators for the sake of a misguided comfort. If you are too lazy to find out for yourself, why do you want to know?

Why Humans run the World

Reblogged via: http://liturgieapocryphe.com/circonstance/why-humans-run-the-world/

June 17, 2015 History professor YUVAL NOAH HARARI — author of Sapiens: A Brief History of Mankind — explains why humans have dominated Earth.

70,000 years ago humans were insignificant animals. The most important thing to know about prehistoric humans is that they were unimportant. Their impact on the world was very small, less than that of jellyfish, woodpeckers or bumblebees.

Today, however, humans control this planet. How did we reach from there to here? What was our secret of success, that turned us from insignificant apes minding their own business in a corner of Africa, into the rulers of the world?

We often look for the difference between us and other animals on the individual level. We want to believe that there is something special about the human body or human brain that makes each individual human vastly superior to a dog, or a pig, or a chimpanzee. But the fact is that one-on-one, humans are embarrassingly similar to chimpanzees. If you place me and a chimpanzee together on a lone island, to see who survives better, I would definitely place my bets on the chimp.

The real difference between us and other animals is on the collective level. Humans control the world because we are the only animal that can cooperate flexibly in large numbers. Ants and bees can also work together in large numbers, but they do so in a very rigid way. If a beehive is facing a new threat or a new opportunity, the bees cannot reinvent their social system overnight in order to cope better. They cannot, for example, execute the queen and establish a republic. Wolves and chimpanzees cooperate far more flexibly than ants, but they can do so only with small numbers of intimately known individuals. Among wolves and chimps, cooperation is based on personal acquaintance. If I am a chimp and I want to cooperate with you, I must know you personally: What kind of chimp are you? Are you a nice chimp? Are you an evil chimp? How can I cooperate with you if I don’t know you?

Only Homo sapiens can cooperate in extremely flexible ways with countless numbers of strangers. One-on-one or ten-on-ten, chimpanzees may be better than us. But pit 1,000 Sapiens against 1,000 chimps, and the Sapiens will win easily, for the simple reason that 1,000 chimps can never cooperate effectively. Put 100,000 chimps in Wall Street or Yankee Stadium, and you’ll get chaos. Put 100,000 humans there, and you’ll get trade networks and sports contests.

Cooperation is not always nice, of course. All the terrible things humans have been doing throughout history are also the product of mass cooperation. Prisons, slaughterhouses and concentration camps are also systems of mass cooperation. Chimpanzees don’t have prisons, slaughterhouses or concentration camps.

Yet how come humans alone of all the animals are capable of cooperating flexibly in large numbers, be it in order to play, to trade or to slaughter? The answer is our imagination. We can cooperate with numerous strangers because we can invent fictional stories, spread them around, and convince millions of strangers to believe in them. As long as everybody believes in the same fictions, we all obey the same laws, and can thereby cooperate effectively.

This is something only humans can do. You can never convince a chimpanzee to give you a banana by promising that after he dies, he will go to Chimpanzee Heaven and there receive countless bananas for his good deeds. No chimp will ever believe such a story. Only humans believe such stories. This is why we rule the world, whereas chimps are locked up in zoos and research laboratories.

It is relatively easy to accept that religious networks of cooperation are based on fictional stories. People build a cathedral together or go on crusade together because they believe the same stories about God and Heaven. But the same is true of all other types of large-scale human cooperation. Take for example our legal systems. Today, most legal systems are based on a belief in human rights. But human rights are a fiction, just like God and Heaven. In reality, humans have no rights, just as chimps or wolves have no rights. Cut open a human, and you won’t find there any rights. The only place where human rights exist is in the stories we invent and tell one another. Human rights may be a very attractive story, but it is only a story.

The same mechanism is at work in politics. Like gods and human rights, nations are fictions. A mountain is something real. You can see it, touch it, smell it. But the United States or Israel are not a physical reality. You cannot see them, touch them or smell them. They are just stories that humans invented and then became extremely attached to.

It is the same with economic networks of cooperation. Take a dollar bill, for example. It has no value in itself. You cannot eat it, drink it or wear it. But now come along some master storytellers like the Chair of the Federal Reserve and the President of the United States, and convince us to believe that this green piece of paper is worth five bananas. As long as millions of people believe this story, that green piece of paper really is worth five bananas. I can now go to the supermarket, hand a worthless piece of paper to a complete stranger whom I have never met before, and get real bananas in return. Try doing that with a chimpanzee.

Indeed, money is probably the most successful fiction ever invented by humans. Not all people believe in God, or in human rights, or in the United States of America. But everybody believes in money, and everybody believes in the dollar bill. Even Osama bin Laden. He hated American religion, American politics and American culture — but he was quite fond of American dollars. He had no objection to that story.

To conclude, whereas all other animals live in an objective world of rivers, trees and lions, we humans live in dual world. Yes, there are rivers, trees and lions in our world. But on top of that objective reality, we have constructed a second layer of make-believe reality, comprising fictional entities such as the European Union, God, the dollar and human rights.

And as time passes, these fictional entities have become ever more powerful, so that today they are the most powerful forces in the world. The very survival of trees, rivers and animals now depends on the wishes and decisions of fictional entities such as the United States and the World Bank — entities that exist only in our own imagination.

Masturbation & Marijuana

I masturbate. Yes, I do. I've done so since I was 8 years old. Am I weird now almost 30 years later? I don't know, maybe, you decide. You know what the difference between me and the rest is though? With me it's not compulsive.

You ever seen those bullshit documentaries about addiction and all that jazz? Well, never affected me. "Oh, I have to maturbate every 10 minutes, oh, I need to, want to, have to...!" Bullshit. You don't. You just don't. It's what your stupidity decides for you. And then you have to ask yourself: Do I want that!? Ask yourself. Seriously, examine yourself.

I smoke marijuana. Yes I do. Smoke cigarrettes too. Yes siree bob. You know what kept me enjoying this for years on end? Moderation. Not being compulsive. 1 gram of weed every other 3 months or so. 1 pack of smokes a week. Killer. Love it.

Do you know the traits of this sort of will? Discipline. I let go sometimes, and yes, gotten fucked up many a times over, of which many a badass, kickass song has been written. So what. I had a goddamn good time doin' it. The Devil is my friend.

But enough of that, let's get back to the sexual part.

Masturbation is a great thing. A great alternative to all the 'fuss' (if this is not self explanatory, you needn't read on). The fantasy, the orgasm which is thrift and uncontrollable. Magic. But have you ever taken a few, just a few, tokes of a joint and then masturbated? The climax is unbelieveable!! Really exilerating and fulfilling. It can almost, nay, does, lead to inspiring situations afterwards, while being sexually high! Literally!

Cause when the climax gets close and you're still in the buzz of the effect of the weed and you're about to space out, orgasmic electricity will exude a tremendous outburst of volcanic proportions, not exaggerating in the least!! You should go for it.

Yeah man, try it, you won't be sorry. Women, you too. Do it unashamedly and sans scruples. I don't give a fuck if you're married or not. Do it. It's fucking good, I promise.

Toke and masturbate, but moderate, it's the only way to keep it fun. Compulsion is not fun, ever, at least not in the aftermath. It just isn't. It begins fun but after a while it is just stupid and, well, compulsive, boring, mindless. It's what you have to realise whether you agree or not.

Ongoing compulsions = negativity = desperation = weakness = loss of perspective and just makes for an indifferent reality. What's your cup of tea?

Burn with it,
J.

Gay or Not: You Decide

This is not an anti nor pro gay tirade so everyone keep their panties in place.

Being gay is natural and is these days something that's accepted (for the most part) in the world. Mine's a different argument and confusion all together. I've been thinking about this for quite some time and still have no idea what the deal is or how to explain this phenomenon.

What I'm talking about is, is that when a woman likes a woman and finds a woman sexually attractive it's because they like women and NOT men. This goes also for men, if a man likes a man and finds a man sexually desirable it's because they like men and NOT women., right?

So where do I get confused...?

If you're a woman and you are a lesbian I assume it's because of  how beautiful a woman can look and how sexy they are and that that is exactly where the attraction lies; softness, kind hearted, sensuality etc. i.e. female. Kind of the same view as a hetero sexual man only less degraded and perverted, I guess.

Now, if you like to dress a certain way and have a particular look you want you are free to do so as you please, but what confuses me is that a lot of lesbian women (stereo typically speaking) want to wear jeans, flanel shirts, wear their hair short and exhibit a manly posture... Why? Cause you like men or want to be male?

To me this kind of defeats the purpose.

They like women but they do everything in their appearance to look and act like a man? Seriously, did anyone ever think about this? I don't care if you're not the hottest looking girl, but it seems to that in a lesbian relationship both partners look and actually ARE female. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, why does one of the females in a lesbian relationship always like to look and overtly exhibit and sometimes even act like man? Why?

There's a lot of question marks in this piece, because I don't get it!! I really don't. If you're a lesbian, to me, both FEMALES should look as feminine as can be cause they DO NOT find men sexually attractive! Role playing games aside of course. This thought creeps up on me time and again whenever I see couples anywhere. It really throws me for a loop.

Same goes for most gay men, some are so effiminate, more so than any woman I ever encountered, and try to speak, eat, and dress like any woman out there. Why? Cause you like women or want to be a woman? That thing gay men fall for, I assume, is masculinity, right? So both should look as male as possible cause that's why you DO NOT find women sexually attractive!

I think in both cases someone somewhere is a bit confused of what they are; hetero or gay. Or maybe I'm just a nut with too much shit on his mind. Either way, I have spoken and thus a rant is spewed into existence.

(Oh and if you were wondering, I'm a hetero sexual man, and I for one can not for the life of me understand why men are gay, men are so fucking ugly, all of them, really, but hey if that's what you like, go for it. It's why I prefer woman, cause I like hips, tits and ass and softness of the flesh and that times two is an even better equation... as long as I can watch.)

Cognitive Copy

No matter what you do, it's been done before. There is no new age, no new enlightenment, not even a new darkness, there is no new. There is just a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. And like a cassette or VHS each copy gets worse, more diluted, more unbareable, more insignificant. That is the age we live in.

Does it get better with time? No, it doesn't, ever. It lessens, it weakens, it falls apart, it means nothing, it becomes nothing. Hypersensitivity, overreactions and ego deflation have left the world with an unconcious hunger that cannot ever be met or quenched.

You either go headlong down the slope with the sheep or stand on the side watching (smugly and belligerently commenting what they do 'wrong'... give it up, you're both equally weak). Either way, you lose. Pick one side and fail miserably, cause no matter the outcome of all that 'hard work', it will be nothing more than a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy...

Feast in splendour,
J.--

Death of the Hunt

Every once in a while you hit that point in life where everything is just meaningless. Nothing amounts to nothing, has little or no value and you basicly don't give a shit about anything and sometimes anyone else. This holds true for every age, whether a dumb young fuck or an old one.

Nihilism is a strong component/opponent in daily life and must be fought, given into, resisted and gloriously embraced for you to have a harmonious 'it's the closest you'll get to peace' existence. Much like anything else, nihilism also has the good and evil/positive and negative side embedded in the center of it's malicious heart.

Opposing, confusing and most likely disturbing thoughts are having a bare knuckles and bitch slap fight in the catacombs of your mind, throwing out any logic, reason and sensibility and will have you crawling on hands and knees for it to end. Think again chump, it won't!

A strong mind can endure this battle for days on end and will come out bruised yet graceful in beating the ugly bastard. A weak, fragile and easily manipulative mind however is subdued by it's tentacles and wretched claws during this ferocious and most brutal assault on the psyche. Hence forth, one learns and moves on with much additional knowledge to face the next fight, and one never seems to cope and is constantly entangled in that creeping colorless abyss, all the while pondering 'why is this happening to me', yet never facing and confronting that selfmade beast called fear of something that is tearing you inside out; you. Positive and negative effect.

People going crazy and off the wall and blowing themselves up is no new thing though. You'll most likely hear people during the day talking about how humanity is getting worse and the situation is not getting better and, of course, lest we forget, the much awaited boiling pot tentatively called the apocalypse!

Newsflash: It has always been this way. Every generation has the same boring fucking doomsayers a plenty with either the same old 'goddamn story' or thinks up a new one made up of all the tasteless ingredients the others had to offer and kindles a fire that will never ever go out, believe you me! Awareness is the key word here. The more you are aware, the more you'll see, the more you start to worry.

When you're young you're just less aware and more stupefied by how your dick works and where it goes. It's all about fucking. Fucking up, fucking the couch, fucking sideways, fucking your hand, but mostly just fucking up. But when you start to age and find yourself somewhat content with your surroundings all the bullshit comes at you in massive tsunami waves from all sides in form of diseases, internet, abbreviations, bills, bills, incessant giberish, fake hair, fake beards, fake tans, flacid promises, weak trepidations, a whole catalogue and variety of bullshit, debts and more bills.

Growing up is great, but for the fact that you always have and always will have to cater to someone else's bullshit some time or another for good or bad, better or worse til death still does not part the habit from the human. There's no how, no way this can be avoided.

Think about how you live your life everyday from the moment you stand up, to that first toilet visit (which is a place away from other's bullshit and is only filled with your shit and  utter crap you think of, before inhaling and exhaling to go out into the noise again) and watch and listen how many times til bedtime you have in between wasted your time and energy on the bullshit of others... surprising, isn't it? Yet it bares trueth on what one really feels.

Getting back to nihilism, it consumes, destroys yet livens and tests you everyday to become something you are kind of, somewhat okay to live with. It's what is called happiness.

However dark, morose, vile and putrid this scum life is, it is ALL up to you how you choose to deal with any card you've been dealt. Just pray it's not the Death card. Me? I'm going for the old fool act and keep my middlefingers crossed everyday to keep the leeches away and keep my middlefingers up if you want an answer.

Killers have credit

Everbody knows him as the man behind the Norway massacre. His mother died. Now he wants to have the right to attend her funeral. (luckily he didn't get to, ha!) Gee, I dunno, he ruthlessly killed 70+ people which was more or less politicly motivated... Mmm, I 'd have to say, fuck him. Anyone who is politicly motivated deserves nothing less than a gang bang by Bubba and his palls. I'm sure he feels sad and lonely in his patted and comfortable fluffy cell, but as a confessed killer you should not have rights anymore, period. Mass murderers like him (and like that faggety James Holmes, just looking at him with that weak willed look on his face makes me want to stomp the shit out of him) they should be stripped, humiliated, degraded and down right be treated like the piles of shit they are. What's with all this respect for these fucks? What's with all this weakness, and forgiving, a total pussification of our animal race. They slaughter people for less in the middle east, fucking thieves getting body parts hacked off and shit. In the West they get a cup of coffee and politely ask what is wrong with you or if your seat is comfortable.

When you cross that line of ultimate perversion and give in to your violent and/or disturbing side, you deserve any retaliation in one form or another. That means that if a parent of one of the victims shows up at the courthouse and blows a hole in the accused (if of course it has been proven or confessed that he/she is the killer) I'd say why not. What does it still matter? He did it, so fuck him. Let them be eaten alive by hungry rats, or pigs, or ripped apart by vultures, or crocodiles. Let's make some entertainment out of it! In some countries they still do though, how great. In the USA back in the 30s they always posed a dead corpse of a killer or killers if they cathed them and killed them (step right up, see Bonny & Clyde on the right side of the screen!), so why not anymore? Because Carlin was right, everbody is letting their 'pussy side' take over, everything gets censured, nobody says it like it is, no one has balls, no one has grit. "Everbody stay in line cause we don't want to make a ruckus..." Exactly, now go back to sleep...
